Fosston controlled the opening game, racing out to a 10-3 lead. The margin shrank to three at one point, but the Greyhounds re‑asserted themselves with a push to 20-11 and closed out the set 25-18 to take a 1-0 match lead.

Momentum flipped in set two. Grand Forks Central seized the early advantage and never relinquished it, keeping Fosston off balance throughout. The Knights maintained steady control and claimed the frame 25-18, evening the match at 1-1.

Set three delivered the tightest volleyball of the night, featuring eight ties and six lead changes. Fosston finally broke through at 16-15 and never trailed again, fending off a late Knights surge to secure a 25-22 win and a 2-1 edge in the match.
