Voters in Polk County have chosen Mike Wedin as their next District 4 County Commissioner. Wedin says that after months on the campaign trail, he feels confident in his decision-making skills and background, and he’s ready to begin working with the board immediately.

Wedin says that while campaign season is behind him, the real work is just getting underway, especially when it comes to navigating county finances and state-level requirements that local governments face.

Having monitored county meetings since filing earlier this year, Wedin notes that while local budgets face distinct pressures, he plans to lean on his past leadership experience and start working closely with fellow commissioners.

Wedin says he plans to continue meeting with current commissioners and attending board meetings as he prepares to officially take office.
