International Falls at Virginia
Recap
The International Falls volleyball team opened the Section 7AA playoffs with a match at Virginia last night in a game that was heard on K104 and rjbroadcasting.com. The Blue Devils were in control in the first set and won it by a score of 25-21. The second set was a seesaw affair that saw 14 ties and 5 lead changes. The Broncos had 4 set points before they prevailed 30-28 to tie the match at a set each. The third set was another close one that saw the Falls lead 24-22 and a chance to take control of the match. However, Virginia scored the final 4 points to win 26-24. Set 4 continued the close play between the two teams. The set would go past the required 25 points to win with Virgina finally winning it on their 5th match point by a score of 30-28. Bella Willie led the Broncos with 11 kills, Olivia Thostenson had 9 kills, 4 blocks, and 2 ace serves, and Maddie Lowe had 7 ace serves. The Falls finishes their season with a 10-10 record. Virginia now faces #1 seed Greenway on Friday.
