Pequot Lakes at Little Falls
Recap
The Pequot Lakes Patriots picked up their 6th win of the 2021-2022 season on Tuesday, beating Little Falls 71-41.
The game began as a back-and-forth affair. From the opening tip, it was evident that the Patriots intended to use their size to their advantage, funneling passes to 6’7 senior center Sam Rysavy in the post as he racked up 25 points on the night. The Flyers were able to see through the tactics at first, hanging with the Patriots and trailing 25-23 late in the first half, but the Patriots were able to finish the half on a 13-0 run to enter the break up 38-23.
The game was never in doubt from there, as the Flyers wouldn’t be able to bring the lead within single digits. Pequot Lakes continued to move the ball well and wound up outscoring Little Falls 33-18 in the second half, ending things at 71-41.
The Patriots (6-2) host Pillager on Thursday, while the Flyers (2-7) get their next chance at a win in Pierz on Friday.
