Clamshell Lake boat landing to close for maintenance
(Press Release)
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is temporarily closing its Clamshell Lake boat landing located on the Whitefish Chain of Lakes, near Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. The closure will begin May 16, and last about a week and a half.
The Corps of Engineers will be performing maintenance on the ramp and parking lot to ensure it is safe for everyone that uses it.
An alternative ramp for the public is the Lower Hay access point off County Road 145 and Rustic Point Road near Pequot Lakes.
Over time, heavy boat ramp usage and activities such as power loading boats onto trailers damages the ramps. The activity often creates large holes at the end of the ramp which can become extremely dangerous.
