Clearwater County Sheriff’s Reserve Help Locate Missing Boy
Bagley, MN — A five-year old autistic boy was found unharmed after going missing for approximately three hours last week in Clearwater County thanks to the help of the Sheriff’s Reserve and a number of other local agencies. On Thursday, June 16th, the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office received a call that a five-year old autistic, non-verbal boy had went missing from a home roughly 8 miles south of Bagley. The boy had been missing for about an hour at the time of the call. Clearwater County Sheriff Darren Halvorson says they quickly called in all their emergency partners to assist with the search and one of their Volunteer Sheriff’s Reserve members were able to locate the boy unharmed and return him to his parents.
Sheriff Halverson adds that given that the child was non-verbal and the ruralness of the area, the situation could have turned out much, much worse.
A Minnesota State Patrol helicopter and North Star Search and Rescue team were also called in to assist but were called off en route once the boy was located.
