Fertile, MN — The Fertile-Beltrami Falcons won their 12th game in a row with their 79-42 win over the Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears on Tuesday night in Fertile.

No points were put up in the first three minutes of the game but it didn’t take too long after that for the Falcons to grab a double digit lead and nurse it for the remainder of the game. Fertile-Beltrami held Clearbrook-Gonvick to 30 first half points and in the second half, it seemed as though there was lid on the rim as the Bears could only muster a total of 12 second half points. The highlight of the night though however was Fertile-Beltrami Senior Josie Iverson eclipsing the 1,000th career point mark midway through the second half. Iverson finished with a game high 23 points. The milestone comes with seven games left in the regular season for the Falcons before opening up postseason play.

Tuesday night’s win was the 12th in a row for the Falcons. They’ll get nearly a week off before their next game at BGMR on Monday the 30th. Clearbrook-Gonvick Falls to 1-16 on the season after the loss and will be at home for their next game on Friday when they host the Blackduck Drakes (1480 AM/99.7 FM KKCQ)
