The Hillsboro/Central Valley Burros hit a late three to force overtime and converted from the free throw line to defeat the Ada-Borup-West Cougars 68-65 (OT). The Burros would open the game with a 10-pont lead before the Cougars offense found their stroke from beyond the arc to catch up and tie the score halfway through the first half. from there it was back and forth before going into halftime tied at 29-29. Again the Burros started fast with their interior scoring before the Cougars came back from range. The Cougars would take a lead on a pair of free throws before the Burros’ Jacob Brandt knocked down a contested three-pointer with five seconds remaining to tie the game at 58-58 and send it to overtime after the Cougar last second heave was offline. In overtime both teams took leads before the Burros converted two free throws with 50 seconds remaining for the final lead change and put down three more to stave off the Cougars comeback attempt and prevail 68-65.
