Fort Frances Muskies at Dryden
Recap
The Fort Frances Muskie girls hockey team traveled to Dryden for a big NorWOSSA contest as both teams looked to stay at one in the loss column in league play. The two teams had already played twice the season with the Eagles winning both times 2-1. In both of those games, the Muskies had scored first and then did again last night as Piper Cross scored shorthanded in the first period with the assist to Keira Fairnington. The Fort held the lead until just over 5 minutes into the 2nd when Dryden capitalized on another power play to tie the game at 1. The Muskie girls were able to kill off four other penalties in the period including a 5-minute major. The Eagles would take the lead nearly 6 minutes into the 3rd and then clinched it at 11:39 of the period for a final margin of 3-1. After the game, Hayden Allam who is injured and helped with the broadcast, says there is a positive that can come with this loss.
Dryden is now 4-1 in NorWOSSA play while Fort Frances is now 2-2. The Muskie girls play in Eveleth on Friday against Rock Ridge.
