Cass County grants ARPA funds for Schools, Federal Dam VFD
The most recent American Rescue Plan Act grants in Cass County will benefit schools and a fire department.
The Cass County Board of Supervisors approved three American Rescue Plan Act grant applications at their regular meeting last Tuesday. The grants will benefit Pine River-Backus Schools, Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, and the Federal Dam Volunteer Fire Department.
PR-B would use the grant for upgrading the school nurse’s office, which is currently too small to adequately house children if a quarantine issue arises in the future like it did during the pandemic. It would also use some of the grant for mental health service spaces.
Immanuel Lutheran Church and School would use funding to help build an addition to expand child care and early learning areas. They’re planning on adding two more classrooms and an additional bathroom.
The Federal Dam Volunteer FD needs funding to assist in purchasing a new fire truck.
