Weird and Wacky Wednesday: “Man found dead after trying to start exotic pet business in own home”
Police in Pennsylvania were left rattled by a grim discovery they made at the home of a man they say was planning to start an exotic reptile business. Cops were notified of an unconscious man on the floor of his home and arrived to find him already dead. They were also shocked to discover more than 150 exotic snakes in the house, most of which were venomous — including cobras, rattlesnakes, and black mambas. There was also an alligator living in the house. While the cause of the man’s death has not yet been confirmed, police noted in their report that he had a noticeable snake bite mark on his body. They also reported that there were four other adults and a three-year-old child living in the house, all of whom are safe. When they found the child, she was sitting in a highchair next to a venomous snake. They told investigators they were collecting the snakes to one day open an exotic reptile business. That plan now is likely off as all of the snakes have been confiscated.
