Tina Smith to Reintroduce Her Mental Health Services for Students Act
The mental health crisis is one of the largest problems facing young Americans. Right now 1 in 5 young people are struggling with severe mental health but only 10% are receiving treatment from a mental health professional. US Senator from Minnesota Tina Smith hopes that her new bill called the “Mental Health Services for Students Act” will act as one solution to this crisis.
Smith hopes that the increased support in bipartisan mental health legislation will continue with her bill so young people can get the help they desperately need.
Smith says that the “Mental Health Services for Students Act” serves as a piece of the solution for the growing mental health crisis.
The Senate Health Committee which Senator Smith sits on will hold a bipartisan hearing on Thursday, June 8 to discuss the mental health crisis and explore potential solutions.
