Barnesville Post #153 scored five unanswered runs and went on to defeat Fosston Post #114 5-3 in the first round of the Northwest Sub-State Legion Tournament in Fosston. Fosston scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 3-0 lead but Barnesville answered with three runs in the top of the fifth to tie the game at 3-3. Barnesville would go on to score single runs in the sixth and seventh innings as they move on to the next round where they will face Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton at 1:30 Friday afternoon. Asher O’Brien had two hits for Barnesville with Cam Halverson driving in two runs with a single. Aiden Wolfe and Thatcher Palubicki each had two hits for Fosston. Asher O’Brien picked up the win on the mound for Barnesville with Zach Theis taking the loss for Fosston. Fosston’s season comes to an end with the loss.
