Garrison has a new fire chief
Garrison has a new fire chief. Assistant fire chief Josh Thompson was awarded the job at the July 11 city council meeting. He replaces Fire Chief Bruce Breun, though Breun will continue to work with Thompson through September. Several grants were awarded to the fire department from various entities. Council member Aaron Eckhout had his resignation accepted by the council, who thanked him for a job well done. Eckhout is moving out of state. A representative of the Brainerd HRA presented information about a Small Cities Grant opportunity for Garrison. The Council approved a donation to the Initiative Foundation for next year and finalized Play Days dates for this weekend, beginning today. A car show will be held Sunday at City Hall.
