Minnesota DNR increasing Chronic Wasting Disease testing in Northwest Minnesota
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is increasing Chronic Wasting Disease testing in Northwest Minnesota. This increase in testing includes mandatory sampling in Norman and Polk County. MN DNR Northwest Area Wildlife Supervisor Robert Baden discusses the increase in testing and the reason for it.
With this mandatory testing being in place hunters will have to turn in their deer heads to the Minnesota DNR and Baden explains how you can do your part to help out the DNR as well as highlighting the drop off locations.
Baden also explained what Chronic Wasting Disease is and why it’s an issue that needs to be dealt with.
If you bag a deer that you think might have Chronic Wasting Disease, Baden suggests that you contact him at his office at 218-846-8476 so that they can come out and test for it.
