Fertile Audits
FERTILE, MN—The Fertile City Council held a special meeting Thursday night to go over audits of the City and the City-owned Fair Meadow Nursing Home. Both audits were considered clean–that is, they were prepared according to accounting standards. Fertile City Administrator Lisa Liden says Fair Meadow’s ability to stay afloat was brought up.
Auditor Ashley Brandt-Duda with the accounting firm Eide Bailly says, as of the end of 2022, Fair Meadow had six and a half days worth of cash on hand. She says it’s recommended that a company have 60 days’ cash on hand. An audience member pointed out that nursing expenses have gone up in the wake of COVID; Brandt-Duda admitted it’s a tough time in the nursing industry.
