Fertile, MN — The Northern Freeze gutted out a 77-68 win over the Fertile-Beltrami Falcons on Tuesday night to improve to 5-1 on the season.

The Freeze would get out to a 19-10 lead early in the first half before Fertile-Beltrami would go on a 19-4 run to take a 29-23 lead and outscore the Northern Freeze 26-12 overall from that point and take a 36-31 lead into the locker room. With the exception of the final few points off of free throws, the second half would never see a deficit of larger then five points and down the stretch Fertile-Beltrami couldn’t get crucial shots on the offensive end to fall and allowing too many offensive rebounds was the final difference as the Northern Freeze would win 77-68.

The Northern Freeze are now 5-1 on the season and will host the Warren-Alvarado-Oslo Ponies on Thursday. Fertile-Beltrami falls to 4-1 on the year and won’t play their next game until after the holiday break.
