GBB   Valley City 71, Northern Cass 51

Valley City remained undefeated in North Dakota Class A Region 1 girls basketball play Thursday with a 71-51 victory at Northern Cass.

The Hi-Liners (9-2 overall, 6-0 Region 1) can thank the sister act of Dacota and Drew Potratz.  Dacota scored 25 points to lead Valley City, while Drew hit a three pointer at the second quarter buzzer to give them a 33-29 lead at the half.  Valley City’s defense forced 17 Northern Cass turnovers and the Hi-Liners outscored the Jaguars 38-22 in the second half to get the win.

Northern Cass’ Haidyn Crockett led all scorers with 31 points.  The 4th ranked Jaguars are now 9-3 overall and 3-2 in Region 1.

Katie Burchill scored 14 points and Tesa Olson 11 for Valley City.

Northern Cass is off until Tuesday when they host Carrington.   Valley City will play two games in Devils Lake this weekend, taking on Watford City Friday and Shiloh Christian Saturday.
