Ada A’s Win Fifth In A Row

Make it five consecutive wins for the Ada A’s. They defeated Dilworth 2-1 Wednesday night at Tony Sipe Field. The A’s opened the scoring in the first inning when Nick Johnson was hit with a pitch with the bases loaded, bringing in Beau Fetting. Then in the second, the A’s got an unearned run when with two out, Sunny Resnick grounded to second, the throw to first was mishandled, and Brennen Fetting kept running from second base to score, making it 2-0.
Dilworth outhit the A’s 8-4, but couldn’t string anything together until the top of the ninth inning. Andrew Linn singled to bring in a run to make it a 2-1 game. But relief pitcher Ethan Opsahl got the final two outs to clinch the victory.
Jake Osowski was the winning pitcher for Ada. In seven scoreless innings, he allowed five hits and one walk with four strikeouts. Opsahl pitched the final two innings for the save.
Lefty Grant Anderson took the loss for the Raildogs. In seven innings, he allowed three hits, two runs (both unearned), one walk, two hit batters, plus three strikeouts. Jacob Hendrickson pitched a scoreless ninth for Dilworth (6-5).
Blake Fetting had two of Ada’s four hits. Jace Drew and Tyler Thrash both had two hits for Dilworth.
