Ada-Borup-West students visiting Washington D.C.
A contingent of students from Ada-Borup-West have spent the week touring our nation’s capital. Close-up has been a program since 1971 allowing students a hands-on learning experience in Washington D.C. In addition to the days spent learning, the students and advisors are able to spend time off-program to see and learn about our Nation’s History.
Close-up group advisor Dave Smart, who has been on every Close-up trip for since 1993, talks about what they have been able to do since arriving.
On the 30th anniversary of their first Close-up trip, Smart talks about what he still enjoys about the experience.
Ada-Borup-West Junior, Mia Gordon, talks about her learning experiences from the Close-Up program.
While in Washington D.C., the students also get to experience everything with other students from around the united States at the same time as Gordon tells us.
Gordon tells us why she’d encourage other students to attend Close-Up.
Lexi Green, a Junior at Ada-Borup West, talks on her favorite experiences so far.
Green describes the difference in learning in the classroom versus the hands-on experience.
Lexi Green states why she would recommend Close-Up to other students.
Ada-Borup-West has sent students to experience the Close-up trip since 1993. In addition to visiting Washington D.C the students travel to New York City on Friday before returning home on Sunday.
