Ada Native To Receive Honorary Doctorate From NDSU

FARGO, ND—A native of Ada will receive an Honorary Doctor of Engineering from North Dakota State University Saturday morning at the Fargodome.  Richard Offerdahl graduated from NDSU in 1965 with a degree in electrical engineering.  He talks about a lesson he learned growing up in Ada.

Offerdahl went on to have a successful career in business.  He credits that success to his degree from North Dakota State.

Offerdahl has donated generously to NDSU.  He and his wife Linda donated $25 million in 2024 toward the construction of The Richard Offerdahl ‘65 Engineering Complex.  That building is expected to open in time for fall classes.
