Ada Police Department adding volunteer chaplain  

The Ada Police Department will be having the opportunity to add a new volunteer position, to assist officers through times of hardship. Ada Police Chief Steve Hager says a community member came forward with an opportunity for the Department to add a volunteer Chaplain. 

Hager says one way that the chaplain would be used, is to assist officers on death notices, which would be especially valuable as the Ada Police Department has a lot of young officers. 

Hager says the position would also be a good resource for officers to go to, after experiencing traumatic events. 

The Ada Public Safety Committee approved the addition of the chaplain position at their meeting on Wednesday night.
