(Aikin, MN) — The Aitkin City Council meeting discussed the status of the roofs for the Fire and Police Department buildings while taking action on the Warming House Project from the Community Room of the Aitkin Public Library on Monday, April 18th.

City Administrator Mike Skribch mentioned to the Council the opt out of Manganese sampling of the City’s water supply from the Minnesota Department of Health.

Skrbich also addressed the impending needs of replacing the roofs of the Aitkin Fire and Police Department buildings.

The Council moved forward with bid letting for the project and dissolving Fund 805 to combine funds with Fund 110 on behalf of the Fireman’s Relief Association. 

Skrbich brought to the attention of the Council the final draw-up of the Warming House-Community Room project.

The motion to get draw-ups of the Warming House-Community Room to TWM Architecture of Nisswa was approved by the Council to go along with the motion to start replacing lighting at the Aitkin Public Library. 

Discussion of the Infrastructure Extension for the Apartment Complex along Highway 47 near Riverwood was also expressed and the City’s cooperation with the project.

The Aitkin City Council will meet again on Monday, May 2nd at 6pm from the Community Room of the Aitkin Public Library.
