(Aitkin, MN) — As the water’s open back up on the lakes and rivers, the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office is making the use of their equipment and preparing for emergency rescues with Airboat Training.
In our chat with Aitkin County Sheriff Dan Guida, he spoke about the need for Airboat training with the last remnants of ice shifting around with people getting one last chance for ice fishing.
Use of the airboat has become a necessity for deputies given an instance where it could be used any time of day.
Sheriff Guida also noted that a few deputies have more expertise with the airboat over the years.
