Aitkin County TZD to hold Pedestrian Safety Saturation on May 25th
The monthly Aitkin County Toward Zero Deaths coalition held their monthly meeting last week brought a new perspective in pedestrian safety with the roadways becoming more congested with the Memorial Day holiday travel and soon-to-be summer travel plans.
We spoke with Aitkin County TZD Coordinator Amy Dotzler after she attended the NE Minnesota TZD Conference and what she took away from the experience.
These beliefs can create perspective that can lead to decisions that are matters of life or death.
With this new perspective and previous planning, Aitkin County TZD will be holding a pedestrian safety saturation event today (May 25th) in higher traffic areas in the city of Aitkin.
Safety enforcement, TZD members, and law enforcement will be on hand to inform pedestrians and drivers on proper safety measures.
TZD will also be there to talk about school zone safety and how to navigate through these reduced speed zones.
Our full conversation with Aitkin County TZD Coordinator Amy Dotzler, which included a talk with Aitkin County Deputy Travis Winter, can all be heard on the Wake The Lakes page at www.rjbroadcasting.com. Aitkin County TZD meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month in-person at the Aitkin Police station or virtually and is open to the public.
