Aitkin County Yard Composting Site open extended days for storm clean-up

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Environmental Services and Planning and Zoning have extended the weekly opening of the Yard Composting Site after the recent storm knocked over and uprooted trees.

The Yard Composting Site was open on Tuesday and will be open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12-4pm. Aitkin County reminds the public they will accept leaves and branches of 4 inches in diameter or smaller. 

Normal hours of operation are Thursdays and Friday from 12-4pm. The Yard Composting Site is located off of 310th Lane through the Oak Ridge Demolition Landfill 5 miles south of Aitkin on Highway 169.
