(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Health and Human Services meeting with the Board of Commissioners from Tuesday, March 1st featured a presentation on Civil Commitments while also approving a personnel change to the Health & Human Services Advisory Committee from the Government Center Board Room.

Adult Social Services Social Worker Becca Person noted the different Civil Commitments with mental behavior as classified by Health and Human Services.

Aitkin County sees a select number of these commitments.

The Board did also approve the AEOA POS and appointed District 6 Commissioner Sara Bejcek as a new member to the Health and Human Services Advisory Committee.

Further in the meeting, Child Social Services Worker Brenda Butterfield spoke to Commissioners about recognition for Aitkin County Public Health being recognized for an award from the Minnesota Social Service Association.

MSSA awarded Erin Melz of Aitkin County Public Health the Regional and State Outstanding Staff Achievement Award in January which will be given at the Annual Conference & Expo this month. Melz spoke before the Board on the work of her team.
