Ask a Chief: The balance of transparency in law enforcement 

During his visit on the KRJB Kaleidoscope Program last week, Ada Police Chief Steve Hager had a discussion about the balance that law enforcement agencies have when it comes to transparency with the public. Hager talks more about this balance, and what’s released to the public vs what’s available to the public. 

Hager gives an example of this “need to know” vs “want to know” balance. 

Hager says law enforcement also has to walk a fine line when it comes to what they can and can not talk about legally.
