Avoid gifting animals as Christmas gifts

The Holiday shopping season is in full swing, and many people often consider gifting their loved one or significant other a pet without telling them. While this may seem like a thoughtful gift, many animal rescues actually recommend that you avoid doing this. Sydney Williams of Smiley’s Rescue in Fertile explains.   

If you have come to an agreement with your family and would like to adopt a new pet, Williams suggests that you go through the pre adoption process, and not take custody of your pet until after the holidays if possible.
