Bagley One Act Play Headed to State Festival
The Bagley High School One Act Play cast and crew performed their show “Journey to the World’s Edge” at the section competition last Saturday in Hallock. They were among eight schools vying for the first place win and honor to represent Section 8A schools at the State Festival this week in St. Paul.
The Bagley performance earned first place, Crookston placed second and Warroad came in third. The BHS theater group will now perform at the O’Shaughnessy Auditorium on the campus of St. Catherine University. Their performance time is Friday at 10:00 a.m. Laura Hamilton spoke with Director Marilyn Hood about the State Festival.
Senior Jana Seifer has been performing in One Act plays for three years. She talks about what an amazing experience it is to create a character.
The state festival is not a competition, rather an honor and opportunity for schools to showcase their work in theater arts. This is Bagley’s fifth consecutive section win and tenth state appearance since 2006.
