Barnesville Potato Days Friday & Saturday
BARNESVILLE, MN—If you like potatoes, you’ll want to be in Barnesville Friday and Saturday for the annual Potato Days celebration. The festivities start Friday night with the Miss Tator Tot Pageant at 5 at the Clay County Fairgrounds. The WOJO Rodeo returns with shows Friday and Saturday nights at 7 at the Fairgrounds. Saturday will be a busy day with a pancake feed and french toast feed, a food court and street fair in downtown Barnesville, a car show at McGrath Park, as well as historic wagon rides, and a martial arts demonstration.
Saturday afternoon at 1:00 is the strong man competition–with women and kids 14 to 18 also taking part–to see how high you can throw a 100 pound sack of potatoes. At 3:00, there will be a mashed potato eating contest, as well as fire hose water fights. Mashed potato wrestling returns to Potato Days at 4pm in the downtown green space. There will also be a potato peeling contest at 4 on the main stage. Saturday wraps up with a street dance from 10pm to 1am. ID
