Be Respectful of Trails & Landowners as Snowmobiling Season Begins
Ada, MN — While snow is now covering most of the area, the Moonshiners Snowmobile Club reminds recreationists that the snowmobile trails are NOT ready for riding. In fact, snowmobile trails throughout the state of Minnesota don’t open until December 1st or until conditions allow. Moonshiners President Dave Jensen says their club, which manages more than 120 miles of trails in the Norman County area, will be busy getting trails marked and ready for December 1st if there is enough snow for riding.
The Moonshiners Snowmobile Club will kick off the snowmobiling season this Saturday, November 19th with their annual Membership Supper and Landowner Appreciation. Because most of their trails span across private property, Jenson says they very much do appreciate their many landowners who grant access for riding.
But in order to continue to maintain those relationships with landowners, Jenson asks snowmobile riders to PLEASE stay on the trails this winter. Every time you venture off for free riding, you run the risk of injury as well as the risk of that landowner pulling their easement.
Tickets for this weekend’s Moonshiners Membership Dinner at the Twin Valley Community Center are $35 for a single or $40 for a couple. They will be available at the door. Social Hour begins at 5:30pm and the meal starts at 6:30.
