Beltrami County looking for opioid settlement steering committee applicants
Beltrami County is expecting to receive approximately $2,862,466 from a settlement reached by the State of Minnesota with opioid distributors and manufacturers. With the money from this settlement being spread to the counties throughout the state these counties will now be tasked with how these funds will be used to fight the growing impact of the opioid epidemic.
Beltrami County will be creating steering committees made up of county officials and members of the community. These committees will be asked to make recommendations on how this settlement money will be spent.
The county is still looking for six people from the community to join the steering committee and the only criteria you need to apply is that you live in Beltrami County. Applications can be found on the Beltrami County website and must be submitted by August 11 at the Beltrami County Public Health Clinic.
