Borup Man Found Dead In Ice House
A man from Borup was found dead over the weekend inside a fish house on Norcross Lake. White Earth Police say they were called to conduct a welfare check on Saturday. They found 37-year-old Nathan Ray of Borup inside the fish house and he was unresponsive. Investigators believe Ray died from carbon monoxide poisoning, but that’s not yet been declared the official cause of death.
White Earth Police remind you if you’re going ice fishing that carbon monoxide is produced from propane heaters. If you don’t have proper ventilation, carbon monoxide can build up in your ice house without you knowing it…since carbon monoxide has no smell and is invisible. Signs of carbon monoxide poisoning include headache, nausea, shortness of breath, fatigue, dizziness and mental confusion. It’s recommended you have a carbon monoxide detector inside your fish house.
