Broncos Girls Basketball Fall Short in Overtime 67-64 to Timberwolves
In International Falls, the Broncos Girls Basketball team were at home last night to take on the Timberwolves of Ely High School. The two teams would put on a barn burner where, at one point, the Broncos were leading by an 11-point margin. The Timberwolves would have a late offensive push to send the game to overtime before winning it over the Broncos 67-64. Cheznee Skrien led the Broncos in scoring with 23 points, all of which came from inside the arch as she was 3-for-4 in Free Throws. Piper Tomczak was close behind with 10 points, and Ellie Rein and Alyana Koenig both chipped in 8 in the losing effort. Joey Payeur would speak with Alyana after the game and ask her what was the difference maker in that overtime.
And what was it that was working for the Broncos to get them the lead at halftime?
She was also asked about the defense and how they were able to adjust from their previous game against Deer River.
Finally she was asked about the positives the team can bring into their next game.
The Bronco Girls will be back on the court next Tuesday where they head to Hill City/Northland for an away game.
