The International Falls Broncos Pee Wee A hockey team is heading to the Minnesota state tournament — the program’s first trip at that level in decades.

Head coach Jared Baldwin says it’s a special moment for the players and the community.

The Broncos earned their state berth with an impressive playoff run — including a tight 4–3 win over Thief River Falls and a 5–1 victory over Warroad in the regional championship.

Baldwin says the team embraced being overlooked.

International Falls now faces a tough opening matchup against powerhouse Edina Hornets boys hockey. But Baldwin says the message to the team hasn’t changed.

As the Broncos take on Edina tonight at 7pm, the confidence is there. The chemistry is there. International Falls is headed to state, and the community will be cheering every shift.
