Buxton City Council Approves Park Committee Members
The Buxton City Council met in regular session Wednesday evening.
The Council approved Dan Fuglesten and Jeremy Larson as members of the city’s park committee. Fuglesten and Larson commented on some areas of focus for the city to consider, including the addition of shade trees and the installation of a new pickleball court.
The transition of land and funds is ongoing between the now defunct Buxton Park Board and the city. Residents approved the dissolution of the Park Board, transferring it over to the city, last June. The committee is hoping to add a third member.
In other action items, the council approved the sale of three lots south of the corner of Neill Street and Dunsmoore Avenue in the amount of $10,000. Additionally, the council approved the request from the buyers to hold off construction of a new home on the property for up to two years. The Council also approved a lift station generator service agreement with ACME Tools and a donation to Central Valley High School’s post prom.
In other updates, Mayor Travis Soderberg informed the council that updates are still in the works for the city’s new website. There is no official launch date for the new website at this time. Soderberg also talks about an opportunity to help Central Valley students improve their civic engagement.
The Council also approved moving their next meeting one week later to March 19th at 7pm at the Buxton Fire Hall.
