BUXTON PARK BOARD APPROVES PLAN TO DISSOLVE
The Buxton City Council met in regular session Wednesday evening.
The city’s park board submitted a dissolution plan to the council following a special meeting preceding the council meeting. Buxton Park Board and City Council Member, Ben Hershey, says residents shouldn’t see much of a difference with day to day enjoyment of the city’s public spaces.
In a corresponding move, the council approved a resolution to place the dissolution of the Buxton Park District on the June ballot.
In other business, the council approved a resolution setting a show cause hearing on a designated dangerous building at 317 Broadway, owned by Riedhammer Masonry LLC. The hearing is scheduled for May 15th at 7pm.
Mayor, Travis Soderberg, also gave an update on the unkept property at 304 Ives Street. The owner was fined a total of $1500 and given an additional 30 days to clean up the property.
Other approved action items included setting the annual tax assessment meeting for April 10th at 7pm and plans for mosquito spraying for the upcoming summer season.
