Call Norm To Help Keep Teens Away From E-Cigarettes

The Minnesota Department of Health has started a new campaign that’s meant to steer teenagers away from using e-cigarettes.  Parker Smith with the Minnesota Department of Health says the campaign is called “Hey Norm.”

The 2022 Minnesota Student Survey shows about 14 percent of Minnesota’s 11th grade students and more than two percent of middle school students use e-cigarettes.  Smith says the goal of “Hey Norm” is to lower those numbers.

Teens can call 1-833-HEY-NORM to get advice on talking with their peers about e-cigarettes. There’s also a website called Room to Breathe with information about quitting e-cigarettes.  Here’s the link: https://aroomtobreathe.org/
