Carly Theis talks new High School Principal Job
Last week Hillsboro High School named Dr. Carly Theis as the new high school principal following the departure of Terry Baesler to Northern Cass. Theis’ extensive background in education began at UND, where she got her undergraduate degree in elementary education. After graduating, she moved to Colorado where she worked with early elementary grades before moving to a junior high role specializing in teaching reading and math.
Theis and her family moved back to North Dakota, earning a master’s degree in special education and teaching in 2016 and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration in 2022. Since then, Theis has served both as an Associate Professor at Mayville State and a member of the Hillsboro School Board since 2023. She feels she has more to give to the Hillsboro community and this is another opportunity to serve.
Theis relishes the opportunity to continue in her passion of helping kids find their path at such an influential and pivotal age.
Theis talks about what she most looks forward to in her new role as principal.
Theis’ future goals with the school don’t include any drastic changes but instead continuing to build on where the school is already at.
Dr. Theis will begin as Hillsboro’s High School Principal on July 30th.
