Cass County K9 Released from Hospital
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office (MN) announced today that their K9 Ryker, who was severely injured during an arrest on September 17, has been released from a Twin Cities Veterinary Hospital and is recovering comfortably at home.
According to the department Ryker sustained several serious injuries, including a shattered orbital socket, snout fracture, fractured teeth, and lacerated tongue and cheek. Ryker will continue ongoing treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
The suspect, Kyote Windom of Cass Lake has been charged with a series of charges including Kill or Cause Great or Substantial Bodily Harm to a Public Safety Dog, Assault in the 2nd Degree with a Dangerous Weapon, 5th degree Assault to Inflict or Attempt Bodily Harm, Fleeing a Peace Officer By a Means Other Than a Motor Vehicle, and Interference with a Peace Officer.
Kyote Windom remains in custody at the Cass County Detention Center.
