Chippewa National Forest Celebrating Smokey the Bear’s Birthday 

Chippewa National Forest will be celebrating Smokey the Bear’s 80th birthday this week at Norway Beach in Cass Lake, and State Highway 46 in Deer River. Angela Stenberg of Chippewa National Forest tells us more. 

Stenberg also tells us more about the history of Smokey the Bear. 

Again, these celebrations will take place on Thursday, August 8 from 1:00 to 3:00 at Norway Beach in Cass Lake, and on Friday August 9 from 1:00 to 3:00 on State Highway 46 in Deer River.
