CITY OF BUXTON OFFICIALLY BEGINS CONDEMNATION PROCESS FOR FORMER HARDWARE STORE
The Buxton City Council met in regular session Wednesday evening.
The council officially began the condemnation process for the property at 307 Broadway, currently owned by Riedhammer Masonry, LLC. The council has had formal discussions with the owner of the former hardware store since last September. Riedhammer Masonry did submit a bid for the removal and sale of the property for $64,200. The council rejected that bid and will proceed with the condemnation process.
In other business, the council approved a gaming license renewal for the Buxton Daycare, approved weed spraying applications, and continued with legal action at the unkept property at 304 Ives Street. The council also continued discussion on the electronic sign project. City Auditor, Jackie Siewert, also informed the council that the city did receive the full amount requested from that state’s Prairie Dog funds. Those funds will go towards expenses incurred from the city’s generator project.
