City of Halstad asking residents to conserve water
The City of Halstad issued a voluntary water conservation notice on Wednesday in order to combat the drought that’s affecting the area. Lucas Spaeth with the Halstad Municipal Utilities discusses this notice and what it means for Halstad residents.
This is a voluntary notice so Halstad residents aren’t required to reduce their water usage but the city is asking for people to do their part and conserve water. Spaeth has some water conservation tips for those who want to conserve water.
Some other ways that people can conserve water is by turning off the water while brushing your teeth, taking shorter showers, and doing full loads of laundry instead of half loads. More information on drought planning can be found on the Minnesota DNR website www.dnr.state.mn.us
