Community Co Op & Lakes Region Co Op Proposing Merger
Lake Park, MN — PATRONS OF COMMUNITY COOP LAKE PARK HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS SHARING INFORMATION OF THE RECENT BOARD OF DIRECTORS UNANIMOUSLY APPROVING THE MERGER OF THE COMMUNITY COOP TO MERGE WITH LAKES ARE COOPERATIVE BASED IN PERHAM. R & J NEWS SPOKE WITH COMMUNITY COOP GENERAL MANAGER DAVE BLOMSETH FOR THE BACKGROUND STORY LEADING TO THIS DECISION.
COMMUNITY COOPS HAS BEEN STARTED IN 1907. LAKES ARE COOPERATIVE WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1912. BLOMSETH SAYS THE LETTER SENT TO COMMUNITY COOP PATRONS RECENTLY OUTLINES AREAS THAT HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED TO CREATE LONG TERM BENEFITS FOR THE PATRONS. THE LETTER ALSO SHARED INFORMATION OF TWO INFOMRATIONAL MEETINGS SCHEDULED.
