Cornerstone Fosston Investigation
A licensed practical nurse at Cornerstone Residence of Fosston has been fired after an investigation by the Minnesota Department of Health found neglect by that nurse. According to a public report released Wednesday, the unnamed nurse was supposed to change a resident’s catheter and documented she had done so. But an investigation by Cornerstone showed the nurse never entered the resident’s room. The resident wound up having to be hospitalized with a urinary tract infection and sepsis. The Department of Health also concluded that Cornerstone staff never reported or took action on changes they had seen in the catheter’s condition– including after mold was found in the collection bag.
