(Crosby, MN) — Cuyuna Regional Medical Center announced their first recipient of the newly implemented DAISY Award For Extraordinary Nurses, given to CRMC Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Kelly Hagesteun of Aitkin.
Colleagues of Hagestuen came together in the Birthing Unit on April 19th for a ceremony and presented her the prestigious award in recognition of her compassionate care of a patient who lost two babies in 2013 and 2021.
Hagestuen has over 30 years of experience as a registered nurse and has been a member of CRMC’s nursing staff since 1993. In addition to her work at CRMC, the nurse volunteers her time and skills with Midwives for Haiti working infants and supporting Days for Girls.
The DAISY Award For Extraordinary Nurses chooses its recipients based on nominations from colleagues, patients, and visitors before going to a committee at CRMC. More information on submitting a nomination can be found on CRMC’s website, and nomination forms and collection boxes are also available throughout CRMC’s campus.
