CWE in Fort Frances! Wrestler interviews
On Wednesday, June 12th Canadian Wrestling’s Elite (CWE) paid a visit to Fort Frances to hold a show at the Couchiching Multi Purpose Building. The show had a stacked match card with numerous very talented wrestlers from their roster.
With a very special guest in the form of WWF, NJPW, and IMPACT legend D-Lo Brown who is most well-known for his run as a member of The Nation of Domination. Where he worked alongside stablemates Farooq, Charles Wright (AKA Kama Mustafa/Papa Shango/The Godfather), Mark Henry, Ahmed Johnson, and Rocky Maivia (AKA Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson).
One of the superstars from the show was Edmonton-native Bobby Sharp “The Lion Warrior” who was the first wrestler I got to interview.
The next wrestler I got to interview was Shaun Martens “The Headline”.
Then, I was able to interview Tyson Hiller who was one of the younger talents on the CWE roster.
After the show, I had the pleasure of talking to Cam!!ikaze, a very flamboyant superstar who was in the main event against the 7x CWE champ Danny Duggan. I was very excited to interview him as he had a lot of passion for the sport of wrestling.
My next interview took me to Boston Pizza where CWE was holding an after party, and I had the amazing honor to talk to D-Lo Brown who was a very humble individual.
But you can’t have a wrestling match with a referee, and I got to talk to Deuce Diamond who is a former wrestler that officiates for CWE.
Another important part of a wrestling show is the announcer, and Kevyn Kross is the honorary announcer for CWE’s shows.
My final interview was with the founder of Canadian Wrestling’s Elite, who is another very experienced performer who had shared the ring with many other talented performers. He is the “Hot Shot” Danny Duggan, a 7x CWE champion who stayed in character even after the show was over.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to interview all of the wrestlers but I wanted to give them a special shoutout starting with Scott Ripley who is half of the CWE tag team champs, then there was Bobby Collins, Josh “Cheeks” Holliday who was a fan favorite and I still have yet to learn why he’s called cheeks. A not-so-fan favorite wrestler was Kevin Cannon, then another fan favorite was Adrien “Bamm Bamm” Burton.
CWE’s Cruel Summer Tour continues from today until July 20th as they continue to travel all over Ontario. sharing their talents with more and more of Canada.
