Demolition begins on the old Norman County Highway Department Building

Demolition has started on the old Norman County Highway Department. In late 2023 county staff officially moved out of the old highway department building and into a new state of the art facility after a lengthy construction project. Norman County Engineer Keith Berndt says that he and the county staff are happy to be in the new building. 

The Norman County Highway Department has been in the old building for over fifty years, so while some were sad to see it be torn down Berndt says the upgrade was needed for a multitude of reasons. 

Berndt says they do have a plan for the site of the old Highway Department and explained what that is.

Hope around the highway department office is that the demolition project is completed by the spring.
