Department of Energy Announces More Than $11 Million To Expand America’s Energy Workforce
The US Department of Energy recently announced that they will be investing over $11 Million to expand America’s Energy workforce, which also includes up to $2.3 million exclusively for Tribal Colleges and Universities. Kristie Kelley of the Center For Energy Workforce Development (CEWD) says the demand for people in the energy workforce is high already, and it’s expected to triple over the next couple of years.
The Initiative by the Department of Energy will facilitate the development of hands-on training and credentialing programs in skillsets supporting the production of natural gas, oil, coal, and geothermal energy by establishing regional academic-industry consortia.
